Throughout this course, I developed an AI Healthcare Resource Center, a website designed to bridge the gap between emerging artificial intelligence technologies and their practical implementation in healthcare education and simulation. Rather than creating a single product for one assignment, I intentionally used each course milestone to build a component of a larger, sustainable resource that I plan to continue expanding beyond this class and incorporate into my doctoral research.


Core Solution

The core solution is an online resource center that helps healthcare educators, simulation professionals, administrators, and implementation leaders understand, evaluate, and implement artificial intelligence responsibly. The website organizes information into several interconnected areas, including AI in Healthcare, AI-Enhanced Educational Techniques, Accessibility, Implementation Science, Resources, and a regularly updated blog. The goal is to move beyond discussing AI conceptually and instead provide practical guidance, evidence-based resources, implementation frameworks, and real-world examples that support adoption in healthcare education.


How the Idea Came About

The idea originated from challenges I have experienced professionally while leading a healthcare simulation center. Many educators are excited about AI but remain uncertain about where to begin, what tools are appropriate, how to evaluate them, or how to integrate them safely into educational practice. 


Throughout this course, I recognized that each assignment addressed a different aspect of these implementation challenges. Rather than allowing each assignment to exist independently, I intentionally connected them into a cohesive website that serves as both an educational resource and a foundation for future scholarship.


The project also aligns closely with my long-term research interests in implementation science and my dissertation, which focuses on implementing AI within healthcare simulation. As the semester progressed, the website evolved from a class project into a professional resource that I anticipate will continue growing well beyond this course.


Intentional Key Design Elements

Several design principles guided development of the prototype.


First, I intentionally designed the website around human-centered learning rather than technology itself. Users are introduced to AI through practical problems and implementation strategies instead of technical jargon.


Second, I organized content into logical categories that mirror the implementation journey—from understanding AI to selecting tools, implementing solutions, and sustaining innovation. This structure reflects implementation science principles and makes navigation intuitive for users with different levels of AI experience.


Third, I emphasized accessibility and usability by using concise language, consistent page layouts, clear navigation, and resources that support both beginners and experienced educators.


Finally, I included blogs, downloadable resources, implementation frameworks, podcasts, and curated references to encourage continued learning instead of presenting static content.

Each tool complemented the others. AI tools accelerated brainstorming, content development, and organization, while traditional scholarly resources ensured the information remained evidence-informed and academically grounded.


Influencing Factors

Several factors influenced development of the prototype.


One of the greatest challenges was maintaining an appropriate balance between innovation and evidence. Artificial intelligence evolves rapidly, making it difficult to create content that is both current and academically rigorous. I also needed to avoid simply listing AI tools and instead focus on helping users understand implementation, governance, and practical application.


Another challenge was maintaining consistency across assignments completed over several weeks. Each assignment introduced new concepts, requiring continuous refinement of the website architecture so that all pages remained connected and aligned with the overall vision.


A significant supporting factor was that the assignments naturally built upon one another. Topics such as Human-Centered Design, stakeholder analysis, implementation science, AI innovation, and accessibility became complementary pieces of the same larger project rather than isolated coursework.


Navigating the Influencing Factors

I addressed these challenges by treating the website as an iterative design project rather than a finished product. After completing each assignment, I revisited previously developed pages to ensure consistency in terminology, organization, visual design, and messaging.


I also relied on implementation science principles to organize content around real-world adoption instead of technology alone. This approach helped maintain a practical focus while keeping the website aligned with my professional experience and future dissertation research.


Using multiple AI tools also allowed me to compare outputs, validate information, improve clarity, and refine content before publishing it.


Additional Reflections

This project became much more than a course assignment. It represents the early stages of a professional resource that supports my broader vision of advancing responsible AI implementation in healthcare education and simulation. More importantly, it demonstrated that artificial intelligence is most valuable when it augments human expertise rather than replacing it.


Moving forward, I plan to continue expanding the website with implementation toolkits, case studies, educational resources, podcasts, and evidence-based guidance that supports healthcare organizations as they adopt AI technologies. I also anticipate using the website as a dissemination platform for future doctoral research and scholarly publications, creating a sustainable resource that evolves alongside advances in artificial intelligence.
